Wage Project
Legal Aid began its
Wage Project in the summer of 2007 and is
now staffed full-time by two attorneys. The
Wage Project provides legal representation
to workers with minimum wage and other
unpaid wage claims, provides outreach and
education on workers’ rights, and seeks to
remove barriers to employment and wages.
Low-wage workers, particularly immigrant
workers, typically face problems that
include: failure to receive a last
paycheck, unlawful deductions from pay,
unpaid overtime hours, and payment below
minimum wage pay rate of $7.30/hour. For
